It's true that our planet is home to so many absolutely gorgeous places. However, not all of these places are very interesting; they only have their good looks going for them, so to speak. Antalya isn't one of these places. Sitting right on the Mediterranean Sea in southwest Turkey, Antalya is a city that flaunts both beauty and fascination. It's regarded as an important part of the Turkish Riviera, and a stunning array of green mountains surrounds the city. Antalya is famous for it's gorgeous beaches, stunning surrounding areas, and vast historical evidence in the form of ancient ruins, architecture, and culture. The main area for tourism is the historic center of the city, Kaleii. There are all sorts of things to fill an itinerary: restaurants, historical landmarks, art, and much more. There are many hotels located directly within Kaleii, meaning you are never too far away from an interesting or historical experience. The narrow streets wind along old buildings, and Hadrianus Gate is interesting to see as well, as it was built by an ancient Roman Emperor. Also be sure to visit the ancient Roman Aspendos Theater, as well as the many other ancient ruins in and around the city. The city walls and the old clock tower are definitely worth investigating as well.

Outside of the historical center is the downtown area, which is very different from the historic center in a few ways. Plenty of bars, nightclubs, and other signatures of big-city life can be found here, and there are even live performances sometimes, all while still holding fast to its historical roots. Antalya Museum is a fantastic archaeological museum, and Tunek Hill, located right outside the city, features amazing views of Antalya as well as trendy rotating restaurant.

Along the coast there are many hotels and resorts for those looking to stay comfortably while being in close proximity to the gorgeous Mediterranean beaches. Konyaalti, Lara, and Karpuzkaldiran are some of the most beautiful of the beaches. Karaalioglu Park is a gorgeous sea-side park that is close to the famous Hidirlik Tower.
