San Antonio Sights You Might Have Otherwise Missed
The sad reality is that most of the tourists coming to San Antonio tend to flock to only the Alamo and maybe a dozen or so of the bigger and better known attractions. What the locals know, but tourists don't, is that there a treasure trove of other very fun things to do and see in this city. I wan to share my favorite ones with you.
My favorite one to mention to any tourists coming here for the first time is Ripley's "believe it or not" museum. The best part about going there is that it's joined with the Plaza Wax Museum, so you get to experience both without having to do separate travelling. Rippley's "believe it or not museum" might do a lot of things to you, but one thing is for sure, you will never forget your visit, and neither will all the friends you'll describe it to.
Another special sight is is Morgan's wonderland. It is the world's first park catering to children in wheelchairs and children with special needs. It's as extensive and as fun as any family fun park you can imagine, so it's good to know about it, if you hadn't until now.
Another great thing for families to look into is the Magik theatre, a very unique theater company that specializes in producing shows based on children's books.
The one thing that more tourists miss than I would expect is the Zoo. This is especially astonishing when you learn that it is the biggest zoo in the USA. It houses several thousand animals, and you are practically guaranteed to discover animals you have never seen before. I heartily recommend a visit.
And finally, most people wish to buy some gifts for their loved ones back home. The best hidden place to do so is La Villita, or "little town". It is a small art village where you have the most unique gift shops you will probably ever see in your life. In between artisan shops, buying gifts and strolling, you can also experience some fine dining.
